An encounter is not a retreat.  It is not “church guys” congregating, passively listening to celebrity speakers, eating too much, spending afternoons in leisure activities, and then returning home perhaps inspired but largely unchanged. 

It is instead an intense, 42-hour exposure to the transforming power of Jesus Christ through men just like themselves and what it means to courageously live for Him and in fellowship with Him. 

Men are set free, placed on a different trajectory, and then given the tools to stay free by remaining in community with one another, sharpening one another, and finding the camaraderie that is the model of authentic, courageous Christianity as modeled by the early church.
